This summer, Max Mikulecky and I were the only two kids still bumming in Lawrence. We'd ride bikes around the city and host quality conversation, occasionally straying into talk about current work or future careers. So when he pitched this project - a slick single page with full-width photos - I trusted his vision completely.
We stewed over a couple New York Times pieces and threw a page together with his media and research in a half-dozen days during the busiest time of the semester. But the result is a marvel - fluid scrolling with fading photos and videos, overlaid parallax captions, autoplaying audio, everything. I contributed the code and design, but it was Max's architecture and artistic attention to detail that lent life to his project.
