In addition to branding, student senate coalition Ad Astra also needed a website to better promote their platform. AdAstraKU.org presents their three core values immediately and then folds into a professional appeal with a mission statement and then more personal touch with images of the candidates and other members of the coalition. The site needed to be noticeably KU-related, hence the red/yellow/blue, but it also needed to be distinct and confident. And above all, the accessibility of the site was essential, hence the use of Ostrich, in keeping with the brand's strong sans-serif type, and Open Sans for easy readability, as well as responsive flexibility for mobile viewing.
A custom build of ZURB's Foundation, primarily the grid and visibility classes, is built into the custom WordPress theme. Flexslider, modernizr, and a handful of icons from iconmonstr and the Noun Project were also used on the site.
